Favorite Star Trek Series

There have been many Star Trek series over the years.  Each one of them tells a very important part of the saga's story.  Which one was your favorite and why?

Star Trek: Enterprise
Set in the early to mid 2150's, this series follows the voyages of Captain Johnathan Archer and the first United Earth Starship Enterprise.  It details the beginnings of what would become The United Federation of Planets.

Star Trek: Discovery
Set in the 2240's, this is the newest series.  It follows the voyages and missions of the new experimental Federation Starship U.S.S. Discovery, NCC-1031. Under the command of Captains Gabriel Lorka and Christopher Pike, she fights in a war with the Klingon Empire and is now trying to solve the Red Angel mystery.

Star Trek: The Original Series
Set in the mid to late 2250's, this is the series that started it all.  It follows the historic 5 year mission of Captain James T. Kirk and the Federation Starship U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701.

Star Trek: The Animated Series
Set in the late 2250's and early2260's, this animated series continues the historic 5 year mission of Captain James T. Kirk and the U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701.

Star Trek: The Next Generation
This series is set in the early to mid 2360's, and follows the voyages of the newest Federation Starship Enterprise, NCC-1701-D under the command of Cpatian Jean-Luc Picard.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Set in the late 2360's and early 2370's, this is the story of the Federation Starbase Deep Space Nine, under the command of Captain Benjamin Sisko.  I details the recovery of the Bajoran people from the brutal Cardassian Occupation, and the discovery of the only known stable wormhole to the Gamma Quadrant on other side of the Galaxy.

Star Trek: Voyager
This series is set in the early to mid 2370's and follows the voyages Captain Kathryn Janeway and the Federation Starship U.S.S. Voyager, NCC-74656 as she is stranded in the Delta Quadrant on the other side of the galaxy, 75 years from home.

Star Trek: Discovery Season 3

It was announced today that Star Trek: Discovery has been renewed for a third season.  The news article is below.  Thoughts?

U.S.S. Enterprise Variations

Over the years that the show has been on the air and in the movies, there have been many different versions of the Starship U.S.S. Enterprise.  To date, there have been 8 Starships to bear the name, ranging from the NX class from Star Trek Enterprise to the Kelvin Timeline U.S.S. Enterprise in the last three movies.  Which one was your favorite, and why?

United Earth Starship Enterprise, NX-01, NX Class.  This Starship was in service in the early 2150's.  She was the main Starship in the series Star Trek: Enterprise.  She was commanded by Captain Johnathan Archer, known as the greatest explorer of the 22nd century.  After the Earth-Romulan War in the late 2150's, and helping to found the United Federation of Planets in 2161, she was eventually decommissioned and donated to the Fleet Museum at Earth.

Federation Starship U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701, early Constitution Class, Discovery version. This Starship was in service in the 2240's, and commanded by Captain Christopher Pike.  She was seen in the series Star Trek: Discovery.

Federation Starship U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701, Constitution Class Original Series refit.  This version of the Constitution Class Starship was in service in the mid to late 2250's, and completed Captain James T. Kirk's historic 5 year mission.

Federation Starship U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701/NCC-1701-A, Constitution Class movie refit.  This version of the Constitution Class Starship was in service in the late 2270's.  The U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701 self-destructed in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.  The Enterprise A was the last Starship Captain James T. Kirk commanded.  She was very instrumental in helping the Khitomer negotiations begin, and thwarted an assassination attempt on the Federation President.  She was decommissioned in the 2290's and donated to the Fleet Museum at Earth.

Federation Starship U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701-B, Excelsior Class Refit.  This Starship was seen in the beginning of the 7th movie Star Trek: Generations.  She was in service in the late 2290's, and commanded by Captain John Harriman.  Not much is known about this ship, except that she was involved in the Tomed Incident with the Romulan Star Empire in the late 2310's.  Because of the incident, the Treaty of Algeron was signed which re-defined the Romulan Neutral Zone and banned the Federation from developing cloaking technology.  The fate of this ship is still unknown at this time.

Federation Starship U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701-C, Ambassador Class.  This Starship was first seen in the Star Trek: The Next Generation season 3 episode Yesterday's Enterprise.  This ship was in service in the 2340's, and commanded by Captain Rachel Garrett.  She was destroyed defending the Klingon colony at Nerendra III from a Romulan Attack Group.  Her sacrifice led to the signing of the Khitomer Accords, which was the historic peace treaty between the Federation and the Klingon Empire.

Federation Starship U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701-D, Galaxy Class.  This Starship was the main ship in the series Star Trek: The Next Generation, and the movie Star Trek Generations.  She was in service in the 2360's.  Her captain, Jean-Luc Picard, was one of the most famous captains of the 24th century.  In the early2370's, her drive section suffered a core breach after battling a rogue Klingon D-12 Class Bird-of-Prey.  It was destroyed, and the shockwave from the explosion caused the saucer section of the ship to crash land on the planet Veridian III.  Casualties were light, but the ship could not be repaired or salvaged.

Federation Starship U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701-E, Sovereign Class.  This Starship was in service in the mid 2370's and is the main ship in the last 3 Next Generation movies (Fist Contact, Insurrection, Nemesis).  Her Commanding Officer is still Captain Jean-Luc Picard.  She fought against the Borg at the Battle of Sector 001 and also participated in several major campaigns during the Dominion War.  In the late 2370's she thwarted an major attempted attack on Earth by the rogue Romulan Praetor Shinzon.  She is currently still in active service.

Federation Starship U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701, Consitution Class, Kelvin Timeline version.  This Starship was in service in the mid to late 2250's, and was the main ship in the latest 3 movies (2009 Star Trek, Into Darkness, Beyond).  She was first commanded by Captain Christopher Pike, and later by a young Captain James T. Kirk.  She was destroyed by The Swarm in the movie Star Trek: Beyond.

Star Trek Fan Productions

Hello, everyone!  One thing that I've been a fan of since Star Trek Enterprise was cancelled is the many fan series and productions that's been done online over the years.  The people behind these series have all done such a good job in carrying on Gene Roddenberry's dream.  Here's a list of the best ones I've come across and followed over the years, and links to this websites where you can watch the productions.  I hope you enjoy them if you decide to check them out!

This is my favorite of the fan series.  It picks up where The Original Series left off after the final season.  It really connects the original Star Trek series to The Motion Picture.  The series uses professionaly made sets and props, and very good special effects.  Another plus is John De Lancie, Otherwise known as Q to all Next Generation fans, guest stars in one episode.  And, the actor that plays Scotty in this series is played by Chris Doohan, James Doohan's son.  I highly recommend it for any fan of the original Star Trek.

Here is another series that continues on The Original Series story.  Like Star Trek Continues, it uses professionally made sets, good special effects, and the acting is pretty good.  The stories aren't bad either.  Plus Several MAJOR Star Trek actors guest star in several episodes of this series.  I once again recommend this to any Star Trek fan.

This is a fan-made series that's set during The Original Series era, and takes place onboard the Starship U.S.S. Farragut.  Once again, the sets are professionally made, The acting is good, and the stories are very good.  They've even made several animated episodes that were pretty good too.  Overall, It's a good series and I again highly recommend it to any Star Trek fan.

This is a fan made movie, directed by Tim Russ, otherwise know is Tuvok from Star Trek Voyager.  The story takes place about 12 years after Kirk's recorded death on the Enterprise-B.  Once again, the sets are real and the story is very good.  Plus, every main actor in this except for Herbert Jefferson Jr., is a major Star Trek Actor.  I again highly recommend this for any Star Trek fan.

This is an upcoming fan made movie.  It's based before Kirk's time, and it's about the Battle of Axanar during the 4 Years War.  The war was fought between the Federation and the Klingon Empire.  From what I've seen so far, the overall production looks pretty good.  The acting is well done, the story looks good, and the special effects look very good.  I definitely recommend it, and I'm looking forward to it being released.  It'll take some time to be released though.  Paramount has filed several legal actions against the people behind the production.  But, it seems to be moving forward though.

This is a fan made movie set during the Earth-Romulan War just after the ending of Star Trek Enterprise.  It has a very good story, and the acting and special effects aren't half bad.  For all of you Enterprise fans out there, it'll answer the question of who was the person from the 27th century communicating with the Suliban.  The sets are blue/green screen, and some scenes are filed on location.  Overall, it's a good production.  I recommend it for any Star Trek fan.

This is the main site for the fan-made series Star Trek Hidden Frontier, and all of it's connected series.  The special effects were ok, and the acting wasn't top notch, but all of the series have a very good story to them.  All of the series used blue/green screen, but were decently done.  But, overall, I found all of the series to be quite enjoyable.  I do recommend it to Star Trek fans.  If you decide to watch it, and wish to know the order of episodes, please contact me.  I managed to work out their whole timeline.

This is the fan made series Starship Intrepid.  It's based on the Starship U.S.S. Intrepid during the Hidden Frontier series, and crosses over with it several times.  They use a combination of blue/green screen and professionally built sets for the series.  The special effects and acting isn't bad, and it's also got a pretty good story to it, especially when Section 31 becomes involved.  Overall, it's a good series, and I recommend it.
